My AAA Explorer story "Birds of a Feather" won a 2023 1st Place Mark Twain Travel Journalist Award.

I won a 2022 Society of American Travel Writers Central States Writing Contest award in the category of Best Magazine Travel Article on an International Destination.

I won a national Parenting Media Association award for service feature.

I won 1st place in the 2022 Mark Twain Journalist Contest Awards in the Midwest category.

He’s become obsessed with skiing this year, so we traveled 18 hours over the weekend so he could ski in Breckenridge, where they have a longer ski season. He was so, so happy. What a treat to sit courtside at the @grandrapidsgold game. It was so exciting to hear the calls they make to each other, see the players’ eyes scan the court, plus I even had to return a ball 🏀. I think Tom could become a sports photographer with the awesome images he captured 📸. We also enjoyed some pretty delicious food. Did you know Grand Rapids is named a foodie city? What do you like about Grand Rapids?
